What is the best professional DV Camcorder for Night Shooting?
What would be the best DV Camcorder for taking video at night and in a nightclub? I need something High Quality and can use an external microphone for superior sound quality.
“Best” would be any of the 2/3″ CCD broadcast/ENG DV cameras, though they start at around $12,000 new.
The Sony PD170 is legendary for its low light performance, certainly for its price range ($2500). It does have mic inputs but the audio is a little noisy.
High definition cameras are not as good in very low light, although some of the more expensive ones are getting close.
